LV1 / LEVEL 1 STUDIO is a creative indie project by Kael Jeong & James Nguyen. It's a place where we can create freely and share whatever projects we working on. Thank you for supporting small businesses and creatives. Our main focus now is perfumery and sharing our memories through olfactive art.
dgrayi & KST SCENT creates olfactive art rooted in Vietnamese and Korean origins—reimagined through a queer, contemporary lens. We honor heritage while breaking convention, telling scent stories that are intimate, emotional, and boldly personal.

James Nguyen
I'm James Nguyen, and some know me as Miju. The journey that led me to create perfumes daily is was surprising to me considering in my past I once had a deep fear of fragrances and all things scented.
My career began in a completely different world – I spent over 15 years working with hair color and the chemicals I encountered in that industry triggered allergies, and fragrances became my enemy. They would give me intense headaches and even make my throat swell. So, I steered clear of any scents in my skincare and hair products, convinced it was the 'synthetic' fragrances that were the culprits. I eventually found solace in natural brands that didn't seem to affect me.
I love creating and learning so eventually it got me to studying cosmetic chemistry as a my main hobby. My journey to perfumery all started when I encountered raw materials used in cosmetics that didn't have the most pleasant scents. In response, I began experimenting with natural ingredients to mask these less appealing aromas which is where my passion for natural materials took root.
Life has a way of taking unexpected turns, and for me, it happened one night in the form of a vivid dream about someone deeply important to me and a unique fragrance. Though this person had passed away, in my dream, they reappeared and described a scent to me.
It was a life-changing experience, as I could vividly smell and experience it within the dream - it was unlike anything I had ever encountered in stores; it was not merely a fragrance, but a complete story with clear, vivid pictures.
Upon waking, I quickly documented every detail I could recall about that special perfume. Though uncertain if it was possible to create a perfume with such intricate complexity, I made it my mission to delve into the world of perfumery and bring that extraordinary scent to life.
I love learning about scents and along the way, I explored isolated aroma molecules, which surprisingly did not trigger my allergies. I later realized that my reactions resulted from the composition and balance of scents as a whole, rather than any particular material. Now I am open and unrestricted in how I can create olfactive stories.
My quest remains to learn and recreate that unforgettable perfume from that fateful night. During my journey I will create art that can add value to the world. I hope you enjoy these creations I make along the way!

KST Scent is a fragrance brand that reinterprets our moments through scent, offering a journey of discovering sensory beauty and connection inspired by Korean sentiment and the joyful spirit of the LGBT community.
I grew up in Korea, where small moments often carry deep meaning. But our stories go beyond borders. At KST Scent, we celebrate the memories that shape us whether it’s a shared laugh, a quiet night of inspiration, or the thrill of being your true self.
Our scents are playful, emotional, and honest. Some are flirty, some nostalgic, some bold but all are rooted in real moments. We believe fragrance should feel like freedom: a way to express who you are, who you love, and what you dream of, without limits.
KST SCENT was born from my memories, but it’s here for yours.

Shipping & Returns Policy
U.S. Shipping
We offer FREE U.S. Ground Shipping on orders of $100 or more.
Processing Time
Please allow 2–7 business days for processing, depending on order volume.

First-Time Customers
Trying our scents for the first time?
We highly recommend starting with our 2ml sample size.
Because our perfumes are handmade and cannot be resold once opened, full-size bottles purchased without prior sampling are not eligible for full refunds once opened.
In certain cases, we may offer a partial refund (up to 30%) without requiring a return to reduce waste and for safety reasons. This is determined at our discretion.
Returns & Refunds (U.S. Orders)
Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase.
Products must be:
- Unused
- In original condition
- Free of damage or contamination
Refunds are issued within 7–10 business days after receiving and inspecting the return.
(Please note your bank may require additional processing time.)
International Orders – Shipping, Customs & Returns
Customs, Duties & Taxes
International shipments may be subject to import duties, VAT, customs fees, brokerage fees, or other charges imposed by the destination country.
These charges are not collected by us and are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
We do not control customs clearance processes and are not responsible for delays caused by customs authorities or local carriers.
Failure or refusal to pay customs duties, taxes, or clearance fees does not qualify as non-delivery or grounds for a full refund.
Shipping Obligation
Once an order has been shipped to the address provided at checkout and tracking information has been issued, our shipping obligation is considered fulfilled.
If a package is held by customs or the carrier pending payment of import fees, the customer is responsible for completing the required clearance process.
Refused, Unclaimed, or Abandoned Packages
If a package is refused, unclaimed, or abandoned due to unpaid customs fees or failure to complete the import process, it may be returned to our U.S. warehouse.
Refunds (if applicable) will only be issued once the package has been received back and inspected.
Refunds will be subject to:
- Deduction of original shipping costs
- Deduction of any return shipping fees
- Deduction of any customs-related charges incurred

For all international returns, customers must include the following:

Failure to provide sufficient identifying information may delay or prevent processing of the refund.
