WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?

Jasmine Rice is an amber rice scent with a floral shade of tea.  Jasmine rice is a staple in every Vietnamese household and I wanted to create a composition that celebrates it.  This scent encapsulates a nostalgic experience of coming home to the smell of freshly cooked jasmine rice alongside brewed black tea.

The jasmine rice is from tinctures I make myself and it comes through as a comforting warm fuzzy texture that I is so addictive.  I use rice tincture a lot in many composition and the first time I included it in a piece is when I was created Alter Oud (which was nominated for an award, yay!) 

For Jasmine Rice I wanted this scent to be a different experience so I included materials that are grown in Vietnam that I got when I visited my perfumer friend Sy in Saigon last year. Jasmine Sambac and Benzoin became a great addition to the tincture.  I am so happy to work with materials that are grown in Vietnam because the Jasmine and Benzoin I usually work with is from India and Indonesia.  Each region where the plant grows have different nuances that shines through uniquely in a composition so this was so fun for me! The addition of Jasmine Sambac adds a floral tea-like experience to the rice texture while the benzoin creates a sweet complexity experience to the dry down.

The first version has more fragrance and less tincture included because I was  initially against including too tinctures since it has a yellow green coloring that goes against the white rice aesthetic but I eventually decided to include more tinctures since I can't do much about what naturals look like in the end!  If you ordered early before Aug 4th your version has 30.7% fragrance and 20% Tinctures!  It is slightly stronger and you really get to experience it in full strength!  With the addition of more tincture, it lowers the concentration of scent so other materials get to shine through.   If you want to try newest version, please email us with order number!
